The side panel can be removed by itself, too however, it's not recommended since it increases the risk of your child falling out of the cot. However, the safety locking mechanism means that it can only remain in place if it is connected to the parent's bed correctly. This is an excellent feature to have in place for peace of mind, particularly when you're breastfeeding and need frequent night feeds.
The Chicco Next2Me Magic is designed to be compatible with any bed, including divan bases and beds with drawers due to the legs that telescopic. It also comes with a tilting function for reflux babies and a rocking feature to help them sleep after feeding. It's also incredibly spacious and provides excellent ventilation thanks to its mesh sides.
The Next2Me Magic was easy to use and set up for our test subjects despite the lengthy instruction manual. It is a little heavier than other side-sleepers, however, it is easily moved from one area to another. It's also foldable up into its travel bag which is ideal for those who want to transport it. The only thing our testers found is that the side panel didn't move as much as other models. This made it a little harder to see your baby from your bed.
